FEAR...
what can you say. Songs for today: "Let's have a war",
"Foreign Policy", "We destroy the Family",
"We got to get out of this place". Chilling stuff.

BACK
TO PUNK FLYERS
The
anonymous artist
who created this flyer certainly had a good sense of humor.
Using a news photo of Pope John Paul
blessing the masses, the flyer announced a concert by some
very irreligious bands. The 1979 concert took place at the
Hong Kong Cafe, one of the few places in Los Angeles
where punk bands could play at the time. The incredible
DILS from San Francisco played the show and their
amazing song I Hate the Rich, made them one
of my favorite bands. Angry provocateurs FEAR delighted
everyone with their usual pugnacious antics. The
enfant terrible editor of SLASH magazine,
Claude Bessy, brought
together several well known LA punk musicians to form the
band CATHOLIC
DISCIPLINE, and their searing performance at the Hong
Kong disappointed no one. One of their inspiring performances
was captured in the documentary film, THE DECLINE OF
WESTERN CIVILIZATION.

DILS...
way ahead of their time. Red rockers from San Francisco that penned
classics like "Class War" and "Hey Mr Big".
Songs for the revolution!
