BACK TO SHOCK BATTALION

From an interview with Shock Battalion that appeared in Left Curve Magazine (#13 1988) Q: Does your name, Shock Battalion, connect with Shock Troops? A: Indirectly. We took the name because it gave us the ability to remain anonymous, yet it wasn't a name the public would forget, they would remember us in connection with our work. And afterall, these are shocking times. Military chic is a fashion craze, the return of the macho super hero war film and other manifestations of the militarization of our culture. In choosing the name Shock Battalion we wanted to point out the absurdity of all this... like holding up a mirror to society.
