Here's what Vallen said about his artwork:

"This print is based upon a common Aztec representation of the human skull. I hand-painted the image directly on a sheet of glass with oil paints. A piece of paper was then laid over the painting and gently burnished. Removing the paper revealed a perfect 'mirror image' print."
