The slogan of No Pasaran first appeared during the days of the Spanish Republic and it referred to the people's vow to defend Madrid from Franco's fascist army. Vallen created this silk-screen poster when the people of Nicaragua came under military attack from right-wing mercenaries trained, armed, and funded by the Reagan administration.
