Every working visual artist who is dedicated to their art, looks forward to a long and industrious life. While a few artists make a big splash in their youth, it’s undeniable that most begin to hit their stride late in life. A lifetime of experiences and honed skills can endow an artist with devastating clarity of mind and proficiency in technique. Today I turn 52 years of age, and I hope I’ll continue to remain fit and productive. As a painter in this insane period - I view every new day of life as a victory to be celebrated. To mark the passing of years I’ll sit at my easel to paint, and I’ll pray the gods grant me a lengthy and prolific career as an artist. I’m not the least bit fatigued or cynical - though I now tend to see the rose through world colored glasses.
