Mark Vallen is featured in the documentary movie, American Beauties: In Pursuit of Art, which premiered on Friday, December 29th, 2006, at the Orange County Center for Contemporary Art.

Featured in the film along with Vallen are fellow artists Michael Maas, Patrick Maisano, Gregg Stone, and Emigdio Vasquez. Together, the five exhibited at Space On Spurgeon gallery in April of 2006 - one result being the production of this documentary.

Produced and Directed by J.T. Marlowe, the film presents a look at the exhibit, but also affords fascinating insights into the motivations and philosophies of the artists as they engage each other in dialog.
