BACK
TO PUNK FLYERS
The
GERMS were certainly LA's most infamous punk band,
with every concert resembling something like a mini-riot.
This
stunning flyer by artist Shawn Kerry announced what
was to be the very last GERMS concert on December
3, 1980. I was at that fateful performance given at the
STARWOOD and I will never forget it. Only days after
the tumultuous concert, lead singer DARBY CRASH committed
suicide.
Shawn
Kerry did quite a number of wonderful flyer designs, and
her artistic skills were utilized by bands like the CIRCLE
JERKS and D.O.A.
